By the end of 2020, IDS developed Inpoint, the first virtual platform in Iraq specializing in entrepreneurship. Inpoint is a Web-Based Platform and Mobile Application for the Innovation for Development Project at UNDP Iraq.
With more than 25 years of experience in developing software solutions, web portals, and mobile applications for over 500 Corporate & Governmental Clients of various sizes, IDS proudly won the bid and successfully developed this challenging project.
About Inpoint (www.in-point.org)
As UNDP Iraq requested, the project represents evidence-based solutions to address specific development challenges in Iraq. It aims to build the capacity of individuals (young men and women) and institutions in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship linked to Sustainable Development Goals.
Moreover, it addresses the enhancement of the entrepreneurship ecosystem (enabling environment).
The primary objective of the assignment is developing a cutting-edge suite of online application, a modern information system including Profiles’ module, e-Learning module, Team’s module, etc. along with an advanced mobile application.
The system’s most powerful features are:
- News Feed Page: includes most of the social media tools (posts, comments, sharing, likes), in addition to extra features like post verification.
- Chatting System with all the common features that any user is familiar with.
- E-Learning System: allows the admin user to create courses and lessons, manage exams, and offer certification at the end of the course.
- Events Management: allows the user to create events in order to raise funds or get sponsors.
- Platform Registration and Profile Management module: includes profile pages for regular users, verifiers, mentors, sponsors, institutions (companies, banks, organizations, universities….) and more features.
- Teams Module: allows the user to create/manage a team. It aims to provide users with a collaboration space for project management.
- Reporting Module: is essential to summarize the activities of the platform, and therefore the business-related activities in the community.
- Gamification Module: is the core added value and the differentiator component of the platform. Basically, it aims to reward a set of desired actions through points and badges (to level up in this virtual gamified environment).
- Startups: allows the end user to create a profile for a small business and introduce this startup to the public for investment.
- Advanced Site Search Module: enables the user to search for the required information or file by entering a specific keyword, sentence, or file name.
IDS has also developed a mobile application for Inpoint platform for iOS and Android users.
The main objective is to provide the mobile/tablet user access to all platform modules/components.
The application was built with the latest technologies using SQL 2017 as the database management system and .NET framework for building the APIs and Webforms. The mobile app was built using Kotlin for Android and Swift for iOS.

The project recently went live and was initiated by the client, who was so proud and satisfied with the result.
